I love to see babies interact with each other. They seem delighted finally to find someone else who knows what it's like to crawl around all the big people's feet. Here's my J.D. with my friend Alyssa's daughter Adriana.

Alyssa and I became friends when we were Ali's age. The day she called to tell me her family was moving to another state, I bawled. We were 10 years old , and this was the most catastrophic event of our short lives. Fifteen years later, we know common interests and a common faith in Jesus can sustain friendships across hundreds of miles.
